Brunos Magpies 2-2 Europa Point FC

The boys put a brilliant performance in against 3rd place Brunos on Friday night. Needing a draw to guarantee top 6 EPFC fell a goal behind 35 minutes in, to a Brunos counter attack. After winning the ball back in the middle of the pitch the ball fell to Brunos central midfielder and he played a long ball over to top to Facundo Alvarez who took a touch into the 18 yard box and finished brilliantly from a tight angle. Three minutes later Hugo Jesslen showed why he's the leagues top goalscorer when Thomas Drage played him through on the edge of the box and he shrugged off the challenge of the centre back and beat the keeper with his left foot to bring EPFC level. The game went back and forth for the rest of the half with both teams creating chances but neither taking the lead.

Five minutes into the second half Brunos went ahead through a corner after an outswinger to the front post was flicked on and Pibe was waiting in the six yard box to tap it in. Needing at least another goal to guarantee qualification for top 6, EPFC put pressure on Brunos for the rest of the half creating chances but not converting. That was until Martin Falkenborn won a free kick near the halfway line in the 88th Minute. Thomas Drage floated the ball into the box and Johan Andersson showed his desire to beat everone to the ball and flick it past the Brunos keeper with his right foot. 2-2! Top 6 just minutes away the boys held out for the draw and made history for the club! What a feeling!
