Match Report

EUROPA Point tasted victory for the first time with a deserved 2-0 victory over Leo FC.
It was Leo FC who started with the upper hand but despite seeing more of the ball in the early exchanges, they found our back-line in solid form.
Our first chance fell to Edwards whose close range effort was well saved. The next raid saw Edwards latch onto a neat through-ball but this time he rattled the woodwork.
The opening goal finally arrived when Alexis Sanchez showed good skill before making room for a strike that beat the ‘keeper.
It was a lead that we took into the second half and it wasn’t long after the restart that we were awarded a penalty when some more positive play from Sanchez ended with him being brought down by Robertson.
Sanchez stepped up and saw his spot-kick just about beat the ‘keeper to double our advantage.
There was a great save from Serrano to deny Leo FC from a free-kick but it was Europa Point who were asking all the questions with Sanchez at the heart of everything.
Next to have a go was Postigo who was played in by Sanchez but his effort flew wide.
It mattered not as we ran out 2-0 winners to claim our first win of the season.

EUROPA POINT: Serrano (GK), Rodriguez, Garcia, Lopez , Ruiz ©, Sanchez, Edwards, Ellul, Garcia, Hernandez, Blazquez. Subs: Borda, Mena, Postigo, Harrison, Stott, Muscat.
